Seiko Vintage “Helmet” Automatic Chronograph, Reference 6139-7101
This extremely rare and good condition vintage Seiko Helmet Automatic Chronograph (reference 6139-7101) was produced during the 1970s. This collectible piece is famously nicknamed the "Helmet" or "Darth Vader" due to its distinctive conical, futuristic case shape.
Beating inside this timepiece is the automatic Caliber 6139, one of the first automatic chronograph movements ever made. It features a black dial with steel indices, lumed hour & minute hands, 30-minute chronograph register at 6H, outer chapter ring with tachymeter scale, and a yellow chronograph seconds hand. The watch also has a day-date window at 3H.
The stainless steel case has a width of 40.90mm including the crown and 48.80mm lug to lug length. The watch is paired with an aftermarket steel mesh bracelet.
Recently serviced, the watch is in good condition and ready to wear.
