Seiko 5 Automatic Day Date Vintage Watch with Calibre 7009 and Black Dial

This vintage Seiko 5 Automatic watch comes with a black dial and the self-winding calibre 7009. It has a stainless-steel case, domed glass-box crystal and screw-in case-back. 

Beating inside this watch is Seiko Calibre 7009, a 17-jewel Japanese made self-winding mechanical movement with a beat rate of 21,600 vph. It has a bidirectional rotating oscillating weight. This vintage movement doesn’t have hacking seconds and hand-winding options.

It has a day date calendar display at 3 o’clock with quick setting mechanism. The crown at 4 o’clock has three positions: Neutral, Pullout (1) for date adjustment and pull out (2) for time-setting.

To set the date, you have to pull out the crown to position (1) and then turn the crown until the yesterday’s date is displayed. Then push the crown back to neutral position and press it repeatedly until the yesterday’s day is displayed. After that pull out the crown to position (2) to time setting mode and advance the hour and minute hands until the correct time and day/day are displayed. Finally, push the crown back into neutral position.

This timepiece comes with Seiko signed stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp.
