HMT Jubilee Special Edition 100th Anniversary of Calcutta Tramways Company

This vintage HMT Jubilee mechanical watch is an extremely rare collectible piece with a story. It was launched in the 1980s to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the historic Calcutta Tramways Company(CTC).

The Calcutta Tramway Company was formed and registered in London on 22 December 1880. The Kolkata tram is the only operating tramway in India.

 In 1980, HMT released a limited production of the Jubilee mechanical hand-wound model with CTC logo and CENTENARY 1980 text on the white dial to mark the 100th anniversary ofCalcutta Tramways Company.

The dial of this extremely rare Jubilee model has a distinct dotted pattern and black roman numeral hour-markers. The watch has a screw-in case-back. The watch is paired with a black leather strap. This piece comes with a vintage HMT box.
